Why Should We Celebrate World Heritage?

As we prepare for our 2022 Virtual Celebration of World Heritage this Saturday, April 9, we would like to thank several emerging professional volunteers who have assisted us: Mary Cain, Kelly Cannici, Zvipozvashe Kundai Ngwenya, Maria Goretti Tai, and Emmy Tither.

In addition to making phone calls to past attendees, these volunteers prepared short videos to help promote the event. We shared these videos via social media but would like to share them here as well as we thank these emerging professionals again for their assistance and for all that they bring to the heritage field.

Click on each name below to watch each video:

Mary Cain – student in World Heritage Studies at BTU Cottbus.

Kelly Cannici – graduate student in Cultural Heritage Studies at The University of Alabama at Birmingham

Zvipozvashe Kundai Ngwenya – student in Museum Studies at Syracuse University

Maria Goretti Tai – UCLA Law School graduate who now works in cultural management and law

Emmy Tither – K-12 Education Program Coordinator at the Latin American and Iberian Institute at The University of New Mexico

Thank you, again, to all these emerging professionals for their dedication to the field and assistance with this event!  If you haven’t registered yet for the Celebration of World Heritage, learn more and register here: https://usicomos.org/celebrations/. Be sure to register by midnight EDT, Friday, April 8th.
