Mount Vernon and UNESCO’s World Heritage List

According to a recent article in the Washington Post, “Mount Vernon has been told to de-emphasize George Washington in applying to be on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. ‘The list has to be representative of all periods, all times and all cultures of humanity,’ says one international culture expert.”
